IT jobs in Helsinki
For candidates from local area, with relocation or remote-based
Helsinki
The capital of Finland, Helsinki, annually takes a leading spot on the lists over best cities in the world. Also, the city is regularly recognized as one of the safest and quietest among European capitals. The severely cloudy climate as well as a lot of cliffs and waterfalls still attracts tourists and migrants. Foreign citizens make up about 10% of the city’s population. Growing urbanization from the provinces makes Helsinki one of the fastest growing municipal areas in Europe.
For the moment, the population is still below a million. Helsinki is a very quiet and calm city where you will rarely find yourself stuck in a traffic jam. Short days can become challenging as you will only catch four to five hours of daylight from November to March during clear skies. A distinguishing feature of the Finns is decency, honesty and the pursuit of equality.
In general, in Helsinki, most people try to eat well and stay active, making for a comfortable atmosphere. Most citizens speak English, but problems can arise if you decide to learn Finnish, as the language is very complex. However, it is easier to learn it while living among the population.
