Denmark
Denmark is the No. 1 country in terms of happiness. A distinctive part of Danish culture is the concept of “arbejdsglæde”, that mean “the pleasure of working”. It is believed that the employee will produce results better and stay with the company longer if he experiences a sense of happiness and acceptance by the group. A distinctive feature of the Danes is a sense of social equality: the boss and subordinate can become friends and discuss ideas on equal terms. A significant part of the IT technologies that we are currently using are made by the Danes, so there are prospects for work and development.
In Denmark, everything is built on caring for the happiness and comfort of a person: offices are equipped with massage chairs, employees organize sporting events, and common working dinners are usually held on Fridays. Danish culture is quite liberated. People openly discuss societal issues, television companies produce risky series, and you will usually come across a crazy poster in your office. Denmark has high taxes, but there are many benefits that make up for it. It is not an affordable place to have a car, but there is a well-developed car-sharing network if the need arises. By the way, shared cars are electric. In any case, it will be comfortable to use public transport or a bicycle. It is worth remembering that Denmark is not famous for its resort weather.
The general vibe, work-life balance and freedom of expression can make up for the dullness and wind, high prices, and domestic problems.
