Security engineers or security analysts help safeguard computer systems and network devices against any sort of attack. As a security engineer, you should enjoy security tasks and have profound knowledge of the security space.

  • Conducting proactive research to analyze the security weakness 
  • Designing and developing a computer security architecture 
  • Preparing documents related to security protocols 
  • Developing solutions and new security tools to mitigate system vulnerabilities 
  • Collaborating with vendors to implement the right security solutions

Key skills and experience

  • Experience in designing and managing security systems
  • Certification like OWSE and CCNA are a must 
  • Knowledge of attack vectors like social engineering, hijacking, injection, and XSS
  • Knowledge of networking protocols like TCP/IP
  • Experience with HTTP and HTTPs and their implementation techniques
  • Familiarity with agile development 
  • Hands-on experience in networking technologies and network monitoring tools 
  • Technical knowledge of operating system security and database 
  • Thorough knowledge of security techniques and protocols 
  • Exposure to Linux operating system
  • Knowledge of anti-virus software, log management, authentication system, and content filtering. 
  • Familiarity with web applications, service-oriented architectures, and web services. 
  • Able to work under pressured environment 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills to teach employees about system securities
